The Nigerian Army is set to deploy 10,000 soldiers to Naija Delta
According to the chief of army staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai he said that the federal Government will deploy 10,000 soldiers to Naija Delta by 2017.
However 3,000 personnel have already been deployed to region before.
Buratai further said that the operation was to train soldiers in that region since Naija Delta is a riverine area and shares border with the atlantic.
He also said that it is to train the soldiers to be able to know the area better since it is a riverine area so that the Nigerian soldiers would be able to fight both external and internal attacks from that region.
