The First Bats Of 2013! And A Couple Of Links To Share
I recorded the first bat(s) of 2013 - Starting on 4/8/13 At ~ 3:15 AM (Eastern Standard Time).
So far:
A Big brown bat (Eptesicus fuscus) -And- A Hoary Bat (Lasiurus cinereus) On the new Batlogger M - Outstanding results! From over 40 Meters distant!
Here is just a snippet, of the lovely sonogram, produced by the awesome (and free!) BatExplorer software:
The BatBox Griffin was also out, in a similar position. It didnt pick up anything either, But - It may be just a matter of adjusting the Trigger threshold level.
Per NOAA: Mostly Cloudy 49F 9C (Batlogger reported 8 C)
Humidity 77%
Wind Speed S 3 mph
Barometer 29.98 in (1015.0 mb)
Dewpoint 42F (6C)
Visibility 10.00 mi
And, before I forget, Id like to share some interesting Links -
